"Zhantozhara" is the third book of Dertogada. The book begins with a mountain under siege — surrounded from outside by enemy forces, yet within holding a great secret hidden from the world. What is carried on inside this mountain is no ordinary matter. Science, mystery, power, and a hidden mission have met in one place.
The mountain is still under siege. As the outside force draws nearer, the Dertogadas are forced to decide their next step. Fight? Negotiate? Or follow a plan unlike any other?
But it is not only the danger coming from outside that is alarming. Within the mountain there is a high secret hidden from all. They are not the only ones who wish to know this secret. Forces coming from afar have their own purposes too.
On the other side, Kirakos is caught between two decisions. One is the order given to him not to come out and not to meet with anyone; although this presses him to leave the area of the secret quickly and hide, Kirakos struggles to decide what course to take.
And there, within, the members of Dertogada argue over one important question: to fight or to negotiate? Bound up with this, the idea of purging the mercenaries and traitors among them is also raised. It is necessary to purge the traitors within; yet who is a traitor cannot be known. Amid all this, one thing is clear: what is sought is no ordinary secret. It is a hidden truth. And when that truth is revealed, the decision many took may be seen in a new light. Zhantozhara throws the reader into one question without revealing the secret to the end: What is the secret hidden within the mountain? And the still more troubling question — when the secret is revealed, who will stand by its outcome?
