After Zhantozhara, the Dertogadas have returned once more to their place. Once again, having purged the traitors and the invading forces from without, the strong members of Dertogada carry on their work with strength. But the outside force is still present. The night has fallen quiet. The water of Lake Tana gleams in the moonlight. Daga Island, too, is wrapped in calm. Yet behind this calm, what goes on is not peaceable.

Dertogada and Gamus have entered a war that cannot be seen in the open. Each side races to learn the other’s plan, to seize the hidden secret, and to get one step ahead of the enemy. Though the war is waged in the dark, its outcome may be seen by all.

Kirakos knows that an old secret has begun to stir again. The matter left forgotten after Diwola’s death has been raised again; the ship that sank near Daga, the gold hidden inside it, and the people tied to it push the story toward new danger.

But this hidden secret is not sought by one person alone. It is revealed that the force tied to Gamus has produced wealth counted in the billions, opened business enterprises around the world, and been quietly expanding its work.

Here a question arises. Is it gold alone that is sought? Or is something worth more than the gold hidden away with it?
